Hi there! My name is Ron, and I’m glad you found WestieDog.com. This page is a personal introduction to the site—why it exists, who creates it, and what visitors can expect to find here. I’m responsible for everything you find here, so if something doesn’t seem quite right, please send me a message and let me know. I’ll make every effort to correct any mistakes.I registered the WestieDog.com domain more than ten years ago. At first, I didn’t plan to build a full website; I simply wanted a place to manage email. I chose the name in honor of our first Westie, Scottie. Over the years, I occasionally thought about turning WestieDog into a public website, but work commitments kept me far too busy to pursue the project. After retirement, I finally had the time to create a place where people could share their love of Westies—and really, the love they have for their pets in general. That is how this site was born.Once I started building the site, WestieDog.com quickly became more than a domain name or email address. It became a personal project shaped by our own Westies, the things we have learned from them, and the hope that other Westie lovers might enjoy it too. I create and manage the content, and my wife, Shirley, gives me her honest opinion on how everything looks. Building WestieDog.com has taken time, patience, and plenty of learning, but it has also been a joy.We are now on our fifth Westie and have learned a great deal from living with the breed over the years. Even so, WestieDog.com is not intended to be an authority on Westies or pets in general. It is simply a collection of our experiences, observations, and lessons picked up along the way.Because our perspective comes from experience rather than professional training, the articles here are general in nature. For detailed advice—especially when it comes to health—you should always consult a qualified expert. Your veterinarian is the best source for medical guidance about your own pet, which is why the articles on this site will always encourage you to seek professional advice when needed. You will also find a few links to other websites we personally like or have used. We include them because we think visitors may find them helpful. We are not associated with those sites, and we do not receive commissions or compensation from them.WestieDog is a place for everyone to enjoy. I built it to share information, stories, pictures, and the simple joy Westies bring into our lives. There is no charge to visit, explore, or take part, and you will never be asked to contribute financially. My hope is simply that you find something useful, heartwarming, or worth sharing with another Westie lover. Finally, thank you for spending time at WestieDog.com. I hope you enjoy exploring the site, and if it brings you a smile, I hope you will share it with another Westie lover.
